Where do the exchange rates come from?
From ExchangeRate-API’s free daily rates (with fawazahmed0’s open exchange-api as a backup). They are mid-market reference rates, updated once a day.
Why is my bank’s rate different?
Banks and money changers buy below and sell above the mid-market rate, and may charge a fee. Use this converter as a guide, and check the bank’s buy and sell rates before changing money.
How often are rates updated?
Once a day. Your browser keeps them for up to six hours so the page loads instantly on repeat visits.
Does it work offline?
Only with rates downloaded in the last six hours. Otherwise it needs a connection to fetch them.
