When is Easter 2027?
- Western Easter Sunday: 28 March 2027. Good Friday is 26 March and Easter Monday 29 March.
- Orthodox Easter Sunday: 2 May 2027 — five weeks later.
- For comparison, in 2028 both fall on the same day, 16 April.
Western Easter is the first Sunday after the church's full moon on or after 21 March, so it moves between 22 March and 25 April. Orthodox churches use the Julian calendar for the calculation, which is why their date is often later.

How a QR code egg hunt works
Each clue is a printed QR code. Scanning it with a phone shows a riddle that points to the next hiding place. The final clue leads to the basket of eggs.
- Plan the route. Pick 5–8 hiding places and write them in order.
- Write a riddle for each. For example: "I have leaves but I'm not a book" (a plant pot), or "Cold inside, I keep the milk" (the fridge).

- Number each code on the back and hide them in order, the first one in plain sight.
For older children, put the clue in a short word puzzle or a sum ("the answer is the number of the drawer"). For a large event, a URL code can link to a map or a sign-up form instead.
Printing tips
- Size: print codes at least 3 cm wide; larger if people will scan from further away.
- Colours: pastel backgrounds are fine, but keep the code itself dark. The generator lets you set foreground and background colours and warns you when the contrast is too low.
- Format: download as SVG for sharp printing at any size, or PNG for quick sharing.
- Quiet zone: leave a white border around each code; don't trim to the edge.
- Weather: outdoors, slip codes into clear plastic sleeves and avoid glossy paper that reflects the sun.
Test before the hunt
Scan every code on paper, in the place you will hide it, with at least two different phones — ideally the ones the children will use.
