How to use this tool

  1. 1Choose the protected PDF.
  2. 2Enter its password. If it opens without one but blocks printing or copying, leave the box empty.
  3. 3Click Unlock PDF and download the unlocked copy.

  • Your file and password never leave your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Can this unlock a PDF if I don’t know the password?

No. If a PDF needs a password to open, you must enter it — this tool removes protection you already have access to, it doesn’t crack passwords.

My PDF opens fine but won’t let me print or copy. Can I fix that?

Yes. Leave the password box empty and click Unlock PDF — the restrictions are removed and you get an unrestricted copy.

Is it legal to unlock a PDF?

Unlocking files you own or have permission to change, like your own bank statements, is fine. Don’t use it to bypass protection on documents you aren’t authorised to modify.
