Valentine's Day 2027: QR Code Love Notes, Scavenger Hunts and Playlists

By Admin Editor · November 2, 2026

A QR code is a small, fun way to hide a message in a card, a gift box or around the house. Your Valentine scans it with their phone camera and gets a note, a song or the next clue. Valentine's Day 2027 is on Sunday 14 February — a weekend, so there is time for something more playful than dinner.

How long until Valentine's Day 2027?

Valentine's Day is always on 14 February; only the weekday changes. In 2027 it is a Sunday, the 45th day of the year — 44 days after New Year's Day. The Valentine's Day countdown shows the exact days left today.

Idea 1: a hidden love note

Use the Text type in the QR Code Generator and type a short message. When scanned, most phones show the text straight away, with no website involved.

Tips:

  • Keep it short. A sentence or two gives a smaller, simpler code that scans easily. Longer text makes the pattern denser.
  • Tuck the printed code inside a card, under a coffee cup or in a lunch box.
  • Make one code per day for the week leading up to the 14th.

Idea 2: a QR scavenger hunt

Hide 4–6 codes around the house. Each one holds a Text clue to the next hiding place, and the last one leads to the gift.

  1. Write the route first: bookshelf → fridge → coat pocket → under the pillow → gift.
  2. Create one Text code per clue, e.g. "Next clue: where the cold things live."
  3. Number the codes on the back so you hide them in the right order.
  4. Scan each one before hiding it.

Idea 3: "our song" playlist

Create a playlist in your music app, copy its share link and use the URL type. Print the code on the card. You can do the same with a link to a shared photo album — make sure the link is shared so your partner can open it.

Other content types can help too: an SMS code opens a pre-written text message, and a WhatsApp code opens a chat with a message ready to send. A reservation, a cinema booking or a "redeem this coupon" note works well as plain text.

Make it look the part

The generator lets you change the foreground and background colours, add a logo or small image in the middle, and download a PNG or a SVG for sharp printing. Keep these rules in mind:

  • Dark code on a light background. Deep red on white or pale pink works; pink on red usually doesn't. The tool warns you if the contrast is too low.
  • Use high error correction (H) with an image in the centre, and keep the image small. See adding a logo without breaking the code.
  • Print it at least 2–3 cm wide and leave a white margin around it.
  • Test with more than one phone, on paper, in the light where it will be scanned.

These codes are static: the content is stored in the code itself, so it works without any account and never expires — but you can't edit it after printing.

FAQ

What day is Valentine's Day 2027? Sunday 14 February 2027.

Can I put a message in a QR code without a website? Yes. Use the Text type; the message is stored in the code and shows up when scanned.

Does the QR code expire? No. Codes made here are static and keep working as long as the print is readable (and, for a link, as long as the link works).
