How to use this tool
- 1Choose your PDF file.
- 2Pick a text watermark (type it, choose a color) or upload a logo image.
- 3Set the position, rotation, size and opacity — diagonal at 30% opacity is a good start for "CONFIDENTIAL" or "COPY".
- 4Stamp all pages, or only some (for example 1-3, 7).
- 5Click Add watermark and download the new PDF.
Features
- Text or image/logo watermarks; text can have two or more lines.
- Any language and accents work — the text is drawn by your browser, not limited to PDF’s built-in fonts.
- Center, any corner, or repeated across the whole page; horizontal, diagonal or vertical.
- Adjustable size and opacity so the page underneath stays readable.
- Respects rotated pages: the watermark is placed as the page appears on screen.
- Works on files up to 100 MB, without uploading them.
Privacy
Your PDF is processed entirely in your browser with pdf-lib. The file and your watermark are never uploaded to a server.
Frequently asked questions
Can the watermark be removed afterwards?
It is added as an image on top of each page, so it can’t be switched off in a PDF reader, but someone with a PDF editor could delete it. For stronger protection, also flatten the PDF to images or add a password.
Does it work with password-protected PDFs?
No. Remove the password first with Unlock PDF, add the watermark, then protect the file again if needed.
Will the text in my PDF still be searchable?
Yes. The original page content is untouched; the watermark is simply drawn on top.
Why does the file get a little bigger?
The watermark is stored once as a small image and reused on every page, so the increase is usually only a few kilobytes.
