Frequently asked questions
How do I sort a list alphabetically?
Paste it in with one item per line and choose Alphabetical, Ascending. The sorted list appears immediately.
What is natural sorting?
Natural sorting compares numbers inside text by value, so “file2” comes before “file10”. Plain alphabetical sorting would put “file10” first, because “1” comes before “2”.
How does numeric sorting work?
It sorts by the number at the start of each line. Lines that don’t start with a number are placed after the numbers.
Can I sort and remove duplicates at once?
Yes — tick “Remove duplicate lines” and the sorted result will contain each line only once.
